BTS V topped the vote for “The most handsome K-pop male idol” in Japan, proving the status of K-pop’s representative visual.
V took first place in the “Who is the most handsome among K-pop male idols?” poll, which was held by Japan’s “K-board” from April 25th to May 1st. “K-board” is a popular Japanese site that provides various information such as Korean dramas, K-pop, culture, fashion and travel. Voting is conducted in a weekly tournament format for 16 idols representing K-pop’s visuals, including V, Cha Eun-woo, Minho and Taemin.
V ranked first in the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly votes. He has not missed the top spot for a long time. V was selected as one of the “‘Face Genius’ Kings of Hallyu” by 25ans, a Japanese women’s fashion magazine, and was evaluated as a representative visual that will lead the 4th Hallyu boom. The media outlet selected V as a face genius, saying, “His overwhelming visual, as well as sexy and deep bass voice, are attractive. His visual is recognized in the whole world. There is also an aura and unique expressiveness of his performances.”
V‘s beautiful appearance drew attention from all over the world in earnest when he was ranked No.1 in the “Top 100 most handsome faces in the world” by TC Candler, an American film site, in 2017. Afterward, he was ranked 1st in “The World’s Most Handsome Man in 2018” selected by “Famous STAR 101” and took 1st place for 3 consecutive years from 2018 to 2020 in “Asia’s Representative Charming Man” by Starmometer, an Asian entertainment media outlet. He has so many “handsome titles” that it is difficult to list them all.
Recently, he topped the list of “TOP 100 – Most Handsome Faces Of K-POP” selected by the Brazilian entertainment site “debeme”. Rafael Prota, a famous Brazilian plastic surgery specialist, appeared on a 9 o’clock news program in Brazil and scientifically analyzed V‘s face, saying, “V’s perfect face brings awe.”
A Dutch TV broadcast also aired an analysis of V‘s golden ratio. V was evaluated to be an “Oriental cultural icon” by a famous foreign journalist as “a person who broke the prejudice that handsome men should be macho-masculine Westerners”.
V is also evaluated by domestic plastic surgeons as a structurally beautiful face with a perfect golden ratio. Plastic surgeons say many people want a face like V, but it is hard to make it even with surgery. They share their thoughts, “V’s face is so handsome that we can only sigh. It’s soft and sexy. His nose and eyes are difficult to make by surgery.”
