Not affected by Kim Sae-ron’s self-made dating rumors, “Queen of Tears” viewership ratings soar
Even amidst the controversy surrounding actress Kim Sae-ron, "Queen of Tears" continues its high viewership ratings
According to Nielsen Korea on March 25th, tvN’s “Queen of Tears“, which aired on March 24th, recorded a nationwide rating of 14.1%. This marks its highest viewership rating, surpassing the previous record of 13% set in episode 4.
In episode 6 of “Queen of Tears”, viewers witnessed the deepening affection between Hong Hae-in (played by Kim Ji-won) and Baek Hyun-woo (played by Kim Soo-hyun) as they go to Germany to cure an illness.
However, Yoon Eun-sung (played by Park Sung-hoon), who targets the Queens Group, schemed while Hong Hae-in and Baek Hyun-woo were in Germany. Grace Goh (played by Kim Joo-ryoung) opened Baek Hyun-woo’s safe and found a divorce agreement, which led the family to find out.
Now deeply in love, Hong Hae-in could not believe her eyes when she saw the photo of the divorce agreement from Germany, but Baek Hyun-woo acknowledged the truth. Hong Hae-in was in shock.
Just as the romance between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won blossomed, a crisis of “divorce” arose, leading to swift developments. Viewers who supported their romance are now on edge. From deepening romance to imminent crisis, “Queen of Tears” continues its high viewership ratings.
Even Kim Sae-ron’s self-made dating rumors could not stop the rising trend of “Queen of Tears”. Formerly under the same agency as Kim Soo-hyun, Gold Medalist, Kim Sae-ron uploaded a photo of herself with Kim Soo-hyun on her SNS, only to delete it quickly.
Accordingly, both Kim Sae-ron and Kim Soo-hyun were embroiled in dating rumors. Kim Soo-hyun’s agency stated, “The dating rumors regarding Kim Soo-hyun are groundless. The photo circulating online appears to have been taken during the time when they were under the same agency in the past, and the intention behind Kim Sae-ron’s action is entirely unknown.”
Nevertheless, rumors and speculations surrounding the alleged romance between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron persisted. Especially considering Kim Sae-ron’s ongoing self-reflection period due to drunk driving and Kim Soo-hyun’s agency’s involvement, Kim Sae-ron’s sudden upload of affectionate photo with Kim Soo-hyun received backlash.
During a critical period when the romance between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won’s characters deepened in the drama, such dating rumors could have been detrimental. However, “Queen of Tears” continued its steady rise despite the controversy surrounding Kim Sae-ron.
