Amid new film’s popularity, Jackie Chan suspected of abandoning his out-of-wedlock daughter

The media speculated that Hong Kong movie star Jackie Chan abandoned his out-of-wedlock daughter because she’s a lesbian.

According to US media TMZ on July 6th (local time), Jackie Chan’s complex history is brought up due to the recent release of his new film “Ride On”.

A netizen shared on SNS a video showing Jackie Chan’s affectionate interaction with his daughter with the caption “The scene of Jackie Chan shedding tears while watching his old movies with his daughter is the best moment we can witness today. Thank you for being my childhood idol”.

However, it turned out that the video was only a viral promotional clip cut from Jackie Chan’s movie “Ride On”.

Following the post, some overseas media outlets dug up the real relationship between Jackie Chan and his real daughter Etta Ng Chok Lam. The media pointed out that Etta Ng referred to Jackie Chan as an “unpleasant homosexual hater” and that the two have estranged from each other.

Jackie Chan had an extramarital affair with Hong Kong actress Elaine Ng Yi-Lei and had a daughter, Etta Ng Chok Lam.

Etta Ng once claimed that Jackie Chan hated the fact that she’s a lesbian and abandoned her for that reason. She emphasized that she receives no support from her father.

Etta Ng said, “Jackie Chan is not my father. I don’t have such an emotional connection with him. He is just my biological father but he doesn’t exist in my life”.

In 2017, Etta Ng revealed her gender identity as a lesbian and publicized her romantic relationship with Canadian influencer Andi Autumn.

Marrying Andi Autumn the following year, Etta Ng confessed, “We’ve been homeless for a month due to our homophobic parents. We pretty much slept under a bridge and other things”.

Jackie Chan is a famous actor who has been very popular in Korea since the 1980s even before he emerged as a world star. He has been visiting Korea around the time of his film releases and conducted exclusive interviews with local film magazines.
