The sudden death of Chinese actor Yu Menglong continues to shock the entertainment industry across Asia.
According to his studio, the star passed away on September 11, 2025, after falling from a building. Police initially ruled out foul play, but the official conclusion has been met with skepticism as more suspicious details emerge.
Mysterious Marks and Fingerprints at The Scene
Chinese outlets including 163 and Sohu published alleged photos from the site before police sealed it. Around the window of Yu Menglong’s apartment, arc-shaped scratches were discovered. Technical staff of the building noted that the insect screen on the window could not be easily removed without special tools.
Moreover, strange handprints appeared on the glass windows of the lower floor, raising speculation that Yu Menglong tried to hold on as he fell.
Friends’ Suspicious Behavior
One eyewitness claimed that Yu Menglong’s friends, who were at the scene, behaved unusually. Instead of panicking like bystanders, they appeared nervous, even carrying clothes to cover Yu Menglong’s face immediately after his body was found.
Notably, none of them called the police or ambulance despite recognizing Yu Menglong. The first call to authorities was reportedly made by the building’s security captain.
Doubts About Suicide
Many netizens questioned whether Yu Menglong’s fall was truly accidental or self-inflicted. They pointed out that Yu Menglong suffered from acrophobia, was active on social media around 9:30 p.m. that night, and had multiple upcoming film and TV projects. As the only son in his family, many believe he had no reason to end his life.
Fans are now demanding further investigation, including CCTV footage, fingerprint analysis, and an official list of those present on the night of the incident.
Dark Rumors About Industry “Hidden Rules”
The case has fueled even darker speculation online. Several unverified posts alleged that Yu Menglong had been blacklisted in the industry for refusing to comply with “hidden rules” involving powerful figures. Some rumors even suggest he was drugged and assaulted before being pushed from the building when he threatened to report the crime.
Others claim the actor, devastated by humiliation, may have chosen to take his own life.
At present, two figures—screenwriter Ju Guangguang and director Cheng Chengtong—are rumored to be linked, though Chinese media caution that none of these claims are verified. Authorities have yet to confirm or release further evidence.
