YouTuber Lee Jin-ho “It’s hard to catch Jennie’s photo leaker… Jennie doesn’t know where the leak came from either”

Former entertainment reporter-YouTuber Lee Jin-ho predicted that it would be difficult to catch the hacker who leaked photos of BLACKPINK Jennie.

On Oct 3rd, a video titled “Jennie’s tearful decision | The reason why YG’s indifferent position is creepy” was uploaded on Lee Jin-ho’s YouTube channel.

In the video, Lee Jin-ho said, “Many photos have been leaked. It wasn’t clear whether the photos were hacked or leaked after being shared with friends. The important part was whether or not the cell phone was hacked, but even Jennie herself didn’t seem to know. Because the hacker mentioned Lee (Jennie and V’s acquaintance), I thought the photos were leaked through this person. Jennie removed Lee from her account, then unfollowed everyone and blocked all of her followers. Given that, we can see that Jennie herself doesn’t know clearly where the leak came from.”

In this situation, can we catch the first photo distributor? Lee Jin-ho explained, “I checked with an IT expert. He gave me a rather skeptical answer. Because the first distributor used Twitter then used Telegram. Illegal photos are being leaked through Telegram. You can file a complaint with the Telegram ID. But there’s no way to know who that person is. And the most important thing is to hand over data about the criminal to be able to investigate. However, the problem is that Telegram has never handed over data to Korean investigative agencies. Agencies also requested data during the Nth Room case, but Telegram didn’t give data to them. However, they cooperated when the state moved and raised issues such as terrorism. I think it’ll be very difficult to hand over data about personal matters.”

What will happen if Telegram hands over data? Lee Jin-ho analyzed, “If the distributor’s account is a Google email, you have to request Google. You need to get approval from both Telegram and Google. These two companies are never places to give personal information.” He added that even if the two companies provided information, it would be difficult to catch the hacker.

Meanwhile, since August, an anonymous publisher with the ID “Gurumi Haribo” has been controversial online and on social media for distributing Jennie’s private photos several times.

On Oct 3rd, Jennie’s agency YG Entertainment announced, “YG has refrained from commenting and expressing positions all this time to minimize further damages. However, we felt responsible and could no longer tolerate the recent mass production of rumors, criticisms, personal attacks, sexual harassment and privacy violations triggered by the personal photos that have been indiscriminately pouring out. All legal measures will be taken without leniency to prevent further damage in the future.”
