A YouTuber in his 30s, identified only as A, has been formally detained on charges of violating South Korea’s Child and Youth Sexual Protection Act.

On September 4, Judge Choi Sang-soo of the Incheon District Court issued a warrant for A’s arrest, citing concerns of flight risk. The broadcaster is accused of producing and distributing sexually exploitative content involving a minor.

According to police, A allegedly featured a minor, referred to as B, during a livestream on July 12 and engaged in inappropriate physical contact that constituted the creation of exploitative material. Authorities concluded that the footage from the livestream fell under illegal production of child sexual exploitation content.

YouTuber arrested live stream child exploitationpeople' 'room' 'monitor' 'table' 'white.

During questioning, A reportedly denied the allegations, claiming, “It was just a punishment game between same-sex participants, and I had B’s consent.”

The case has drawn significant public attention, especially after A was arrested live during a collaborative livestream on September 1. In the now-viral clip, another participant is heard saying, “The police are here,” before A acknowledges receiving prior calls but insisting he had not yet gone in for questioning. Moments later, he was escorted out by police on camera.

Following the court’s review, his detention was confirmed on grounds of possible flight risk. A has previously faced sanctions from multiple platforms for provocative content. The court is expected to examine further details of the case, including potential accomplices, in upcoming trial proceedings.
