According to an exclusive report by Spotv News on August 19, after a six-month hiatus, Yoon Ji Yoon has officially parted ways with K-pop girl group izna, marking a significant shift for the rookie group formed through Mnet’s survival show I-LAND 2: N/a. Yoon Ji Yoon and her agency WAKEONE came to a mutual decision for her to leave the team after extended discussions.
“We reached this decision with the artist’s health and future in mind, following deep conversations with both Yoon Ji Yoon and the members,” stated WAKEONE.
Back in February, just three months after IZNA’s official debut, Yoon Ji Yoon went on a temporary hiatus citing health issues. At the time, WAKEONE explained, “She will be taking a break due to ongoing health concerns and to focus on full recovery.”
“Hello, this is WAKEONE. We sincerely thank all the fans who always cherish and support izna.
We would like to inform you about the future activities of member YOON JI YOON. After long and careful consideration, YOON JI YOON has decided to conclude team activities. Since the beginning of this year, YOON JI YOON has been focusing on rest and recovery.
And during that time, the company and the artist had in-depth discussions about the direction of future activities. As a result, it was decided that JI YOON will be stepping away from group activities with health as the top priority.
Therefore, izna will carry on their journey as a six-member group from now on. We are truly sorry for any concern this sudden news may cause, and we will do our utmost to ensure that izna can repay your support with great performances. We kindly ask for your continued warm support and love for izna as they continue to grow and move forward.”
Yoon Ji Yoon, who was known as the group’s main vocalist, will not be returning. With her departure, IZNA will now continue as a six-member group: Mai, Bang Jee Min, Coco, Yoo Sa Rang, Choi Jung Eun, and Jung Se Bi.

Despite the lineup change, IZNA remains active. The group recently released their new single “BEEP” in June and has been participating in various promotions. Most notably, their cover of “Golden”—originally part of the soundtrack for Netflix‘s upcoming animated film KPop Demon Hunters—drew attention after being performed during South Korea’s 80th Liberation Day celebration ceremony, symbolizing youth empowerment and resilience.

Yoon Ji Yoon’s exit is a heartfelt moment for fans who admired her vocal prowess and presence. Still, many are expressing support and well-wishes for her recovery and future endeavors.
