“Marijuana suspicions” Yoo Ah In’s cell phone confiscated by the police for a digital forensic investigation

The police reportedly conducted a cell phone digital forensic investigation on actor Yoo Ah In (real name Uhm Hong Sik).

According to a report by Star News on February 11th, it was confirmed that the police has already seized Yoo Ah In’s mobile phone and begun carrying out a digital forensic investigation.

Yoo Ah In, who is suspected of habitually administering Propofol, was recently booked by the police at Incheon International Airport on February 5th, the day he returned to Korea after his trip to the U.S.

At that time, the police did an on-scene search warrant for Yoo Ah In’s body and banned him from going overseas. As drug use suspicions were raised, the police decided to conduct a simple kit test for drug ingredients.

In addition, Yoo Ah In provided about 160 strands of body hair for the drug reaction test by the National Forensic Service and his cell phone to begin the forensic work. Therefore, Yoo Ah In is currently out of contact. The result of Yoo Ah In’s hair assessment will be released within 10 days.

Earlier on February 10th, it is reported that the actor tested positive for marijuana in a urine test, raising another suspicion of taking marijuana. Experts speculated that he might have recently used marijuana as Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the main ingredient of marijuana, is usually not detected in the urine test after being taken for 7-10 days.

In response, Yoo Ah In’s agency UAA stated, “We’ve read the articles, but there’s nothing we can confirm right now. The police have not yet revealed any additional information. We have nothing to say other than our official position released previously”.
