YG Responds to Reports of BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Jisoo Establishing Individual Agencies: “No Confirmation”

YG stated that there is still no confirmation regarding reports of BLACKPINK Jennie and Jisoo setting up their own agencies

On September 25th, YG Entertainment responded to news reports about BLACKPINK Jennie and Jisoo’s establishment of their own individual agencies, “There is no confirmation yet regarding BLACKPINK’s contract renewal and future activities.”

BLACKPINK debuted in August 2016 and is currently at a crossroads for their contract renewal with YG. Although August marked the expiration of their exclusive contract that lasted for 7 years, both parties have not made any official statements regarding the contract status up to the end of “BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR BORN PINK FINALE IN SEOUL” held on September 16th and 17th at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul.

Prior to the rumors about Jennie and Jisoo establishing their own agencies, it was reported in July that Lisa was likely not to renew her contract with YG, to which YG responded, “There is no confirmation. Contract negotiations are currently ongoing.”

Then, on September 21st, it was reported that Rosé had renewed her contract, leading to speculation that the remaining three members would leave YG. YG Entertainment, however, stated, “There is no confirmed information regarding BLACKPINK’s re-signing, and discussions are ongoing.”
