BLACKPINK’s Jisoo representative, YG Entertainment finally released their official statement related to the dating rumor of Jisoo and Son Heung Min.
In an official press release on October 10th, BLACKPINK’s company, YG Entertainment:
“All the dating rumors related to BLACKPINK Jisoo are baseless assumptions.
We have been watching the situation closely. However, as rumors spread overseas, we are concerned about the damage to our artist. Therefore, we would like to clarify the wrong information.
We sincerely ask you to refrain from making random speculations.”
This is YG’s official position related to the rumors of Jisoo (BLACKPINK) and Son Heung Min’s romantic relationship, which has been spread online these days. Earlier, some netizens raised suspicions based on the fact that Jisoo and Son Heung Min both departed from Paris, France, and arrived in Korea at Terminal 2 of Korea at Incheon International Airport in Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon on the afternoon of October 5th. In fact, the dating rumor has surrounded Jisoo after she went to watch Son Heung Min’s match in England and even posted a photo of herself watching it in September 2019. Moreover, netizens also found out that the two wore bracelets with similar designs.
However, all the evidence has been proved wrong. In the case of Jisoo, she returned to Korea after finishing her S/S Milan and Paris Fashion Week schedules. Meanwhile, after staying in England for the 3rd Group A match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup Qualifying (Asia regions) on October 7th, Son Heung Min reportedly moved to Paris due to the lack of flights in the aftermath of the pandemic. It was just a coincidence that they got on the same plane. Moreover, the bracelets they wore have also been proved to be from different brands with different designs.
As Jisoo and Son Heung Min are both global stars and have a great influence in their respective fields, their dating rumor has become a hot topic in Korea and all over the world. However, rumors have resulted in a lot of damages, such as the spread of false facts and malicious comments towards the 2 stars.
While Jisoo’s company, YG Entertainment, remained silent for 2 days, Jisoo’s fans voiced to defend their idol, “Jisoo visited London to attend Burberry Fashion Week and watched the match with her staff who are fans of the football players. Her staff also posted pictures taken at that time on their Instagram. Jisoo has no connection with that football player (Son Heung Min)”. They also tried to minimize the damage to their idol by sending mail for clarification through various media companies.
Son Heung Min’s side has not released any official announcement. In response to the rumor, Son Heung Min’s fans also explained the issue on behalf of him, “He finished the match in England on October 3rd, but there was no direct flight from England to Korea. Therefore, he had no choice but to fly to Korea via Paris with other players.”
