Yeo Yeon Hee has personally spoken out regarding the dating rumors linking her to chef Son Jong Won.
On May 24, Korean media outlet TenAsia published details from an interview with Yeo Yeon Hee, where she firmly stated that the rumors were “not true.”
According to the model, she initially planned to ignore the speculation without making any public clarification. However, comments repeatedly mentioning the dating rumors began spreading across YouTube videos, Reels, and Shorts, with many viewers asking whether she was Son Jong Won’s girlfriend.
Because the speculation continued growing online, Yeo Yeon Hee eventually decided to address the issue herself.
She explained, “Son Jong Won uploaded photos of his dog, and coincidentally it was the same poodle breed as my pet dog.” She added that people likely began making assumptions simply because they owned the same breed of dog.
Yeo Yeon Hee further emphasized that she specifically wanted to make it clear that the rumors were false. She stated, “I have absolutely no desire to intentionally become involved in issues by being linked romantically with someone.”
The dating rumors originally spread across online communities and social media after netizens noticed similarities in the atmosphere and backgrounds of photos uploaded by the two around the same period. Speculation intensified further after photos featuring poodles — which some believed were the same dog — circulated online.
Some internet users even claimed to have seen the pair together, fueling additional rumors about a possible relationship.
However, even at the height of the speculation, many netizens questioned the credibility of the rumors, with comments such as, “The evidence is way too weak,” and “Just because they both own poodles doesn’t mean they’re dating.”
Meanwhile, Yeo Yeon Hee, born in 1992, first gained public attention after appearing on “Korea’s Next Top Model” Season 3 in 2012, where she ultimately finished in third place.
