On the morning of November 4, China Press released shocking new details surrounding the death of 31-year-old influencer Xie Youxin, who was found dead in a bathtub at a luxury hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
According to police reports, Malaysian singer Namewee —who was present at the scene—told investigators that he discovered Xie unconscious in the bathtub and attempted to perform CPR but was unsuccessful. He then immediately called for emergency services. Namewee claimed that the two had been meeting to discuss a new music project at the hotel before the incident occurred.

However, when authorities arrived, they found Xie’s body naked in an empty bathtub, raising questions about the actual circumstances of her death.
Police later discovered nine blue pills suspected to be ecstasy in Namewee’s hotel room. A urine test returned positive for amphetamine, methamphetamine, ketamine, and THC. Following the results, Namewee was charged on October 24 with two counts of drug possession and abuse, and was released on bail of 8,000 RM (around 2,000 USD).
Meanwhile, Chris, Xie’s close friend and manager, stated that the initial hospital report in Malaysia listed heart disease as the cause of death. However, Xie’s family strongly rejected that conclusion, emphasizing that she had been in good health prior to her passing.
According to China Press, Xie’s family in Taiwan is expected to travel to Malaysia in the coming days to claim her body, which is being held at the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital for autopsy and further investigation.
The tragedy occurred on October 22 at a five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur. Upon arrival, police confirmed that Xie had already died and that Namewee was at the scene. Later, on November 3, Malaysian authorities confirmed that no evidence of sexual assault was found, and the investigation would not proceed as a sexual crime. The case has been scheduled for trial on December 18.
