“The Glory” writer Kim Eun Sook personally explained the rumor of Ha Do Young’s infertility.
At 8 p.m. KST on March 8th, Netflix’s official YouTube channel broadcasted the “The Glory Part 2” GV (Guest Visit Production Team Briefing) event live. Writer Kim Eun Sook, director Ahn Gil Ho, and actress Song Hye Kyo attended the first part of the event.
In Part 1 of the series, there were speculations that Ha Do Young (Jung Sung Il), who lacks nothing in both wealth and appearance, married Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon) because he is unable to conceive children, and could divorce her anytime he wanted. This rumor became a topic of discussion among viewers, and some wondered if it was true.
During the event, a fan asked Kim Eun Sook directly if Ha Do Young is infertile. Kim Eun Sook shut down this rumor, saying, “Ha Do Young is perfectly fine. Please don’t make assumptions, and expect to see more of Jung Sung Il’s works in the future.”
Kim Eun Sook also revealed some insights into “The Glory” story and character development, which will be explored in Part 2. She said that a viewer’s analysis of the drama as a battle between believers and non-believers was accurate, and that Part 2 would delve deeper into the characters’ beliefs and motivations. She mentioned that Park Yeon Jin practices shamanism, Lee Sa Ra is a Christian, and Choi Hye Jung is a Buddhist, while Moon Dong Eun doesn’t believe in God and seeks revenge on his own.
Kim Eun Sook added that viewers could expect to see all the loose ends tied up and that Moon Dong Eun’s revenge would finally begin in Part 2. Her comments sparked excitement among fans who were eagerly anticipating the second season of the series.
