“Woo Young-woo parody controversy” Wowcow: “No disparaging autism, will take legal action”

On July 21st, Wowcow said on their YouTube channel community, “There were so many malicious comments that we couldn’t handle, and there were more than five pages of controversial articles that we are even afraid of being really buried. However, we never created any content that disparages people with disabilities.”

“If we take down the video and apologize due to such an attack that is almost like terrorism, it will be another case of surrendering to cyber bullying, and we are enduring this for the first time in our lives because we are afraid if we don’t, it might make the crowd think they can wield creators at their will,” Wowcow said. “We will respond legally to malicious comments that have gone too far.”

Wowcow then said, “The last thing I want to say is that I think all contents in the world have positive effects and negative risks. Creators see and coordinate these two things with their individual perspectives and experiences and produce them when they believe that the positive impact is greater, and I think that is the creator’s “value,” they said. “I hope you respect this value. I think the way to respect the creator’s ‘value’ is to consume it if you like it, and not if you don’t like it. I don’t think you should get off, curse, or attack anyone because you don’t like it. If we focus only on the negative risks that are inevitable due to the nature of the content, I don’t think there is anything that can be created in the world,” this Youtube channel added.
