Although specific information such as the team name has not been revealed yet, the fact that it is a seven-member girl group debuting under YG is raising expectations. Many music fans are paying attention to Jan 1st, when YG’s new girl group will be finally unveiled.

Not much is known about the new girl group. According to OSEN’s exclusive report last year, YG’s new girl group, which consists of the best members selected among applicants from all over the world, received YG’s high-intensity training from the age of 10 and went through an average of 4~5 years of training.

While YG’s youngest group, composed of members in their mid-teens, is expected to be born, various speculations are continuing about what kind of team YG’s high-teen girl group will be and how they will differ from 2NE1 and BLACKPINK.

YG’s new girl group launch is about 7 years after BLACKPINK debuted in 2016. Senior groups 2NE1 and BLACKPINK both grew into world stars by completely changing the girl group territory with differentiated skills and concepts. This is why people are curious about the appearance of a rookie who continues YG’s girl group genealogy.

2ne1

2NE1, which officially debuted with “Fire” in May 2009, created a sensation as a talented girl group with flamboyant fashion, charisma and outstanding musical skills. Afterwards, they established themselves as a representative singer of Korea in name and reality by releasing numerous hit songs such as “I don’t care”, “Can’t Nobody”, “Go Away”, “Clap Your Hands”, “Lonely”, “I Am The Best” and “Ugly”.

BLACKPINK, which took their first step in the music industry with the release of “SQUARE ONE” in August 2016, achieved the title “Monster Rookie” at the same time as their debut by succeeding in double title songs “Whistle” and “Boombayah”.

BLACKPINK

After that, each song released such as “Playing With Fire”, “As If It’s Your Last”, “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, “Kill This Love”, “How You Like That” and “Lovesick Girls” achieved great success in the global music market.

As 2NE1 and BLACKPINK have been loved by the public for their overwhelming skills and music, expectations are high on what kind of music, skills and visuals YG’s new girl group will showcase this time. Attention is focused on whether YG will be able to receive the title “Girl Group Master” with the launch of their new girl group.
