What Gong Hyo Jin’s mother once told her about marriage draws attention amid wedding news with Kevin Oh 

Gong Hyo Jin’s mother did not think it was necessary for her to get married. 

During her past appearance in tvN’s reality show “House on Wheels”, Gong Hyo Jin once confessed that she has a strong and independent personality.

However, Gong Hyo Jin went on to reveal that her parents lived upstairs. She said, “My parents never come over to my place. It’s real independence. I often visit my parents’ house to eat.”

Gong Hyo Jin then recalled a conversation she had with her mother about marriage. She said, “My mother told me, ‘You have job to do, and you won’t have to retire because of anyone in your whole life. You have many friends who work in the same field as you, so living alone is better. What’s the point of getting married?“

Gong Hyo Jin also revealed that her mother did not want her to learn how to cook. When she asked for a recipe for a dish, Gong Hyo Jin’s mother coolly said, “Don’t learn (the recipe). You can live well even without knowing how to cook.” 

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier today that Gong Hyo Jin and Kevin Oh will hold a small wedding in New York this October, not in Korea.
