Kevin Oh’s background and education level is jaw-dropping to many people.
Recently, famous actress Gong Hyo Jin officially announced that she will marry singer Kevin Oh (Korean name: Oh Won Geun), who is 10 years younger than her, in October. The news of this marriage has been hotter than ever, as it is an union between Korea’s “rom com queen” and a singer with a strong fanbase.
Gong Hyo Jin’s fiancé, Kevin Oh, was born in 1980 in the United States, and so he is a Korean-American with a US nationality. The singer made his full-fledged debut in the entertainment industry after winning the Mnet survival audition program “Superstar K7”, which aired in 2015.
Prior to his debut, Kevin Oh actually studied economics at Dartmouth College – one of the top-ranked universities in America and a part of the prestigious Ivy League. The school was attended by many famous faces, including David Harbour – who plays Jim Hopper in “Stranger Things”, and Kang Dong Seon – the third son of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung Yeon.
In addition to Dartmouth University, Kevin Oh reportedly received offers from many other top educational institutes, including Cornell University, Duke University, Carnegie Mellon University, Emory University, Boston College, and New York University.
Kevin Oh’s siblings are also Ivy League graduates, with his younger brother graduating from Princeton University and his younger sister from Dartmouth College.
Despite attending the Department of Economics at Dartmouth, Kevin Oh interned at a neuroscience research institute at the State University of New York. After graduation, he also ran a startup that develops custom headphones to suit customers’ tastes for about two years because he wants to work in music.
Such an intensive and impressive background truly leaves a lot of netizens flabbergasted.
Meanwhile, on August 17th, Gong Hyo Jin and Kevin Oh’s agency, Management Soop, announced that the two stars will be holding a private wedding. Kevin Oh also expressed his feelings about the news in a heart-fluttering post on Instagram.
The couple’s wedding ceremony is scheduled to take place in the United States in October.
