Video of The Late Moonbin’s Last Appearance Goes Viral
A video showing the last appearance of ASTRO's Moonbin is gaining attention.
On the online community Theqoo, a post titled “Kai Rover Challenge video became the last appearance of ASTRO Moonbin”, was published on the 24th.
The article includes a video of Moonbin and Ian, a member of Fantagio’s rookie boy group Lun8 filming a challenge video together. The video was uploaded on the official YouTube channel of ASTRO on April 15th.
Moonbin and Ian showcased their version of Kai’s “Rover” challenge and received keen attention. Moonbin appeared in a white t-shirt and jeans, while Ian wore all black.
The two showed off their perfect rhythm and hip movements, and at the beginning and end of the video, Moonbin’s love for his junior was also highlighted.
Moonbin fist-bumped with Ian as a sign of fighting spirit, and at the end of the dance, he approached Ian with a heartwarming smile and patted his back.
The post writer also left a short but touching message while posting the video, “Even though it’s been eight years since his debut, he practiced alone in the practice room until dawn and took vocal lessons when he had no schedule. Please remember Moonbin, who was always bright, hardworking, passionate, and the eternal main dancer of ASTRO.”
Lun8, under Fantagio, is the second boy group to debut after ASTRO, seven years later. On April 15th, they released a group performance video through their official YouTube channel, drawing attention.
After this post was posted, netizens on Theqoo expressed their longing for Moonbin through comments such as, “I thought he danced well after watching this… It really feels like a lie,” “I hope he dances and sings to his heart’s content in heaven and rests in peace,” “It’s still unbelievable, and the more time passes, the more unbelievable it becomes,” and “I vividly remember cheering when this video was released.”
Moonbin was found dead at his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, on April 19th, at the age of 25. All funeral proceedings were conducted privately according to the wishes of his family. His agency prepared a separate space for fans to mourn him until April 30th.
