“Veteran 2” confirms the casting of main characters and plans to start filming this December

Ryu Sung Wan’s film “Veteran” will return with Season 2.

Distributor CJ ENM announced that the casting of the main characters for “Veteran 2” was completed on December 2nd and the filming will begin in December.

Veteran 2”, the sequel to the box office hit “Veteran” with 13.41 million accumulative admissions, is a crime action movie that depicts the new crisis faced by Seo Do Chul (Hwang Jung Min) and the veteran violent crime investigation team.

First of all, Hwang Jung Min, who has presented intense action performances through various works, such as “The Spy Gone North”, “Deliver Us from Evil”, “Hostage: Missing Celebrity”, and “Narco-Saints”, will return to play the role of detective Seo Do Chul. In the new season, Seo Do Chul will not only show a more experienced appearance as a veteran detective but also express more lively action scenes together with the violent crime investigation team members.


Jung Hae In is arousing keen interest as he has been reported to join “Veteran 2” as Park Sun Woo, the youngest detective in the violent crime investigation team. As the new member to join the original veteran investigation team, the actor is expected to add new tension and fun to the story. Attention is also focused on whether Jung Hae In will create another lifetime character through this work.

In addition, the casting was completed with Oh Dal Soo as Team leader Oh, a detective from the violent crime investigation team who joins hands with Seo Do Chul, Jang Yoon Joo as Detective Bong, Oh Dae Hwan as Detective Wang, and Kim Si Hoo as Detective Yoon.


Director Ryu Seung Wan continues to take the megaphone for “Veteran 2”, following “Veteran”. At the script reading on November 24th, he said, “I’m trying to make it a more intense suspense compared to the previous movie and reveal a realistic story in a different way. I’m even happier to gather the staff and actors whom I can trust and rely on, and we will do our best together.”

Hwang Jung Min also shared, “I’m really excited and happy to meet ‘Veteran’ team and new members. I will continue to work hard for the shoot with the actors and staff this time and present you with a good movie”, expressing his feelings and raising expectations.

“Veteran 2” is expected to show a stronger and more experienced team of detectives fighting against the evil that has evolved from the previous film.
