Valedictorian Goo Hye-sun Recalled Her Pet Died On The Day Of Her Final Exam

Goo Hye-sun brought up the sadness that has remained in her heart for four years.

Actress Goo Hye-sun appeared as a guest in the latest episode of the Channel A entertainment show “Dr. Oh’s Golden Clinic,” which aired on May 30th.

In this episode, Goo said “I’ve been studying for four years,” revealing that she returned to college after taking an eight-year leave of absence. Lee Yun-ji added that Goo graduated as the valedictorian with a grade of 4.27 out of 4.5, which equals 97.7%.

When asked if there were any difficulties, Goo Hye-sun recalled, “My dog Potato died in the morning of my final presentation exam.” Goo said, “I didn’t have time to be sad when I saw my dog with cardiac arrest. I didn’t know I could do my presentation and took the test,” recalling the difficult time, saying, “I was very sad. I just couldn’t believe it.”

Oh Eun-young mentioned “Petros syndrome,” which refers to the sad feelings of separation from pets, and said, “You will have an emptiness of losing a family.”

“In fact, I lost five dogs for the past four years. Of course, I’m sad, but I can’t express my feelings to others. I might seem cold-hearted,” Goo added. In order to achieve her goal, she couldn’t skip school.

“I couldn’t help but be sad. I couldn’t have enough time to be sad, and of course, I didn’t have a sense of reality,” Goo said. “I came back after achieving my goal of graduation four years later, and my dog was not next to me.” She said she traveled through time to overcome her sadness. “I looked back on my past feelings and looked back on memories with my dogs.”

“I didn’t want to talk about my dog until yesterday,” she said. Asked why she wanted to hide the story of her dog’s departure, she answered, “I thought I didn’t want to be eroded by sadness (about the dogs) because I won’t be able to overcome this sadness in the future,” adding, “No words can describe (my sadness) when I ask myself what family feels like.”
