UNIS (Jin Hyeon-ju, Nana, Jellydanka, Kotoko, Bang Yun-ha, Ellysia, Oh Yoon-ah, Lim Seo-won) won the ‘Female Idol (Rookie)’ award at the ‘2024 Brand of the Year Awards’ held on the 3rd.
This award is particularly meaningful because the winners in each category are selected directly by consumers nationwide. Through a public vote conducted from July 8 to 21, UNIS was chosen as the ‘2024 Female Idol (Rookie),’ solidifying their position as an up-and-coming artist in the spotlight.
Through their agency, F&F Entertainment, UNIS expressed their gratitude, stating, “We are incredibly thankful to receive such a meaningful award just six months after our debut. We will work hard to present even better music and performances in the future.”
Since their debut, UNIS has achieved remarkable success, which is unusual for a rookie idol group. Their debut album ‘WE UNIS,’ released last March, ranked 8th in first-week sales among all-time girl group debut albums. Additionally, they made notable appearances on various domestic and international music charts, indicating their strong momentum.
Furthermore, their recent release, the 1st single album ‘CURIOUS,’ achieved a career-high for the group. Shortly after the release of ‘CURIOUS,’ UNIS topped the iTunes charts in five countries, and the first-week sales also exceeded those of their previous album, demonstrating their impressive growth.
In addition, UNIS has already swept four trophies, including the ‘Asia Star Idol Award’ at the ‘2024 Korea Best Brand Awards – Korea Hallyu Entertainment Awards,’ the Female Group Popularity Award and the K-pop World Dream Music Icon Award at the ‘2024 K WORLD DREAM AWARDS,’ and the Female Idol (Rookie) award at the ‘2024 Brand of the Year Awards.’
