“Unexpected Business 3” Apologizes For Hygiene Controversy, “It Was The Production Team’s Fault”

“Unexpected Business 3” released an apology regarding the controversy over poor hygiene management 

On November 10th, tvN’s entertainment program “Unexpected Business 3” released an official position, saying “We should have paid more attention to hygiene management, shortcomings, such as not wearing masks, occurred and caused concerns to viewers”, adding “We would like to deeply apologize for this issue and acknowledged that it was entirely the fault of the production team.”

Regarding the hygiene controversy, the production team explained, “All the content was filmed in the US and we made all efforts to strictly adhere to local complex hygiene regulations and laws. However, we might have missed some fundamental parts in the process”, adding “It is regrettable that the efforts of the actors in managing hygiene were not properly conveyed due to the nature of the broadcast that requires summarizing events within a short time.”

They emphasized, “Although feedback may not be immediately applied on the set, we will make every effort to reflect viewers’ opinions into the future production and editing works of the show. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and promise to pay more attention to the production in the future”.

In a previous broadcast of “Unexpected Business 3”, the cast members were seen talking without wearing sanitary masks while rolling gimbap and tasting gimbap while wearing sanitary gloves. Seeing the scene, viewers raised issues over poor hygiene management.

“Unexpected Business 3” is a reality program about the diary of Cha Tae-hyun and Jo In-sung, two city men who suddenly are in charge of running a supermarket and cooking. In particular, the new season shows the two taking on the challenge of operating a Korean mart at Monterey, a port city located in central California, the US.
