Ukrainian broadcaster and model Olena asked Korean fans for help in the midst of the Russia – Ukraine War.
On Feb 28th, Olena shared the National Bank of Ukraine account on her personal Instagram story, saying, “Send money here to make a donation to the Ukrainian government at once. Oh, it takes some time to approve the remittance.”
She then added, “If you are personally skeptical of supporting the war directly, I recommend the Red Cross.” She also updated the terrible war situation in her hometown in real time and spoke up, “Korean people need to know it too.”
Olena is a Ukrainian model who is appearing on MBC every1’s “South Korean Foreigners”. Last month, when MBC’s official YouTube channel “Mbig News” described Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a former comedian, as an “amateur-like politician”, she said, “Korean news made such a ridiculous video, aren’t you ashamed?”
Meanwhile, Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb 24th. In response, Ukrainian people are resisting with their whole body, while President Zelensky does not leave the capital Kiev and is confronting Russian President Putin. Western countries are also sending help to Ukraine. President Zelensky is known to have signed an EU membership application.
