TWICE Chaeyoung quickly apologizes for wearing a T-shirt with Nazi symbol swastika

Chaeyoung, a member of JYP’s representative girl group TWICE, released an apology for her recent controversial SNS post.

Chaeyoung released an article on her Instagram account on March 22nd, saying “I sincerely apologize regarding the Instagram post”.

She continued, “I didn’t correctly recognize the meaning of the tilted swastika in the t-shirt I wore. I deeply apologize for not thoroughly reviewing it.”

She added, “I will pay absolute attention in the future to prevent any situation similar from happening again. Sincerely apologize again”

Earlier, Chaeyoung made overseas fans rage as she was seen wearing a T-shirt with pictures of British musician Sid Vicious and a Nazi symbol.

Later on March 21st, TWICE’s global fanclub ‘TWICE OMVT’ issued an official statement, saying “We implore JYPE and Chaeyoung to delete the post immediately and release an apology”, adding “Musicians like Chaeyoung are constantly in the public eye and their actions can influence others, so they may be held to a higher standard of accountability for their choices, including their fashion choices.”

On the other hand, earlier, Chaeyoung also got criticism for wearing a QAnon-related shirt.

Meanwhile, Chaeyoung’s group TWICE released their 12th mini album “READY TO BE” on the 10th. With this comeback release, the girl group ranked 2nd on the Billboard Main Album Chart ‘Billboard 200’ and is still carrying out various activities.
