T.O.P hinted at leaving Big Bang in a recent interview.
T.O.P is on the March cover of the magazine Prestige Hong Kong. Ahead of Big Bang’s first comeback in five years, T.O.P announced the reason for the group’s long hiatus and future plans in an interview with the media.
T.O.P described his drug controversy as his life’s “worst moment.” The idol said, “I’ve been suffering from depression since I was young. Five years ago, I tried to make an extreme choice (to suicide). It was only later that I realized how much hurt and pain I had caused to the people around me, my family, and my fans,” he said.
Regarding the upcoming comeback, TOP also said, “This comeback song includes a message to fans and a message about why Big Bang is off.”
Meanwhile, Big Bang is preparing a new song for a comeback this spring. However, TOP reportedly did not renew his contract with his agency YG Entertainment.
