Three new SMROOKIES trainees: Where did we see them?

SM Entertainment announced new trainees for the first time in 4 years.

At midnight KST on June 2nd, SM Entertainment suddenly reactivated the SNS account for SMROOKIES male trainees and introduced three brand new faces to the public. This is the first time SM published their trainees since 2018. The new trainees are Eun Seok, Shohei and Seung Han. After SM’s posts, netizens have quickly searched for more information about these trainees.

Shohei is the trainee with the most information that can be found at the moment. Some netizens pointed out that Shohei is a former trainee of Avex, Japan’s second largest entertainment company. He was once a member of BxB, which disbanded in 2018.

Shohei’s full name is said to be Matsushima Shohei. He is Japanese and was born in 1997. In BxB, Shohei took on the role of rapping and dancing.

Information about Eun Seok and Seung Han is still very scarce. The two are believed to have appeared in fantaken photos of SM trainees when they attended SM artists’ concerts, but they were all wearing masks. Eun Seok is said to be born in 2001 and Seung Han in 2002.

Currently, netizens are also curious about SM’s future plans for these trainees, as to whether they will be added into the NCT system and debut in NCT’s upcoming subunit NCT Japan, or in a brand new boy group that is not related to NCT. Let’s wait and see.
