Amid the rising popularity of JTBC’s Sat-Sun drama “Welcome to Samdal-ri”, viewers also paid more attention to the actors, especially Kang Mi-na.

One of the highlights of “Welcome to Samdal-ri” is the harmony between Hae-dal and her daughter Ha-yul (Kim Do-eun) as the two boast a lot of resemblances, from their appearances to their personalities. The scene in which Ha-yul says to her mom Hae-dal, “I’m just a little girl so I can’t protect you”, then Hae-dal replies, “No one has to protect me. But I have someone to protect. I have you”, touched many viewers because of the two’s sincere affection for each other. Watching the drama, many people sympathized with the tears of Hae-dal who has to endure the weight of being a mother at such a young age.

Encountering Ji-chan (Kim Min-chul) by chance, Hae-dal begins to care for him. Similar to the way Ha-yul is everything to Hae-dal, dolphins are also everything to Ji-chan. Because of this similarity, the ways they face life are also similar. When Hae-dal is worried that her mother Mi-ja (Kim Mi-kyung) would never stop working, Ji-chan advice, saying “If you’re so worried about your mom, just become a haenyeo!”, really helps Hae-dal realize something. The 100% pure chemistry between Hae-dal and Ji-chan is fluttering the hearts of many viewers.

In fact, the youngest Hae-dal is the center of the three sisters, who face problems every day in their lives. Hae-dal sometimes teases Sam-dal (Shin Hye-sun), who is trying to hide her feelings, by asking “Do you like Yong-pil?”. However, when she witnessed Sam-dal suffering difficulties because of Eun-joo, Hae-dal exploded with frustration.

In this way, Kang Mi-na has created a three-dimensional character by convincingly connecting various narratives of one character.
