“Third-largest shareholder” Yoo Jae Suk talks about Antenna investment, “If there is a deficit, I’ll pay for it”

“National MC” Yoo Jae Suk, who recently became the third-largest shareholder of Antenna, expressed his willingness to make profits.

The Youtube entertainment program “Pingyego” released a new episode on June 29th, showing Yoo Jae Suk having a talk with Jung Seung Hwan, who is also active under Antenna Entertainment.

First, Yoo Jae Suk explained the structure of the company building to Jung Seung Hwan as he came there for the first time. Jung Seung Hwan shyly commented, “The atmosphere on this set is quite informal”. As Jung Seung Hwan gradually felt more relaxed Yoo Jae Suk said, “You may feel more comfortable with me than with Hee Yeol hyung. Hee Yeol hyung is a high-level senior and the CEO of this company, but I don’t hold any position, right?”, drawing laughter.

Jung Seung Hwan said, “It feels like I’m visiting a venture company”. Hearing that, Yoo Jae Suk explained, “It’s experimental. Antenna Plus is an investment for the future. It’s not generating significant profits now, but it will in the future. We are working hard to make profits. That’s also the reason I’m doing ‘Pinggyego’ right now”.

Listening to Yoo Jae Suk’s explanation, Jung Seung Hwan said, “I feel a little sorry. Is it right for me to come at this point when you are striving to take a new leap?”. Yoo Jae Suk comforted Jung Seung Hwan’s concern, saying “Don’t worry, Seung Hwan ah. We can still handle this. I’ll take care of it. If there’s a deficit, I’ll pay for it.”

Meanwhile, the Youtube channel “DdeunDdeun”, which is creating various content, such as “Pingyego” and “BamBam Social Club”, was opened in January when Antenna established an independent entertainment studio called “Antenna Plus”.

According to reports on June 27th, Yoo Jae Suk acquired 2,699 Antenna shares (approximately 20.7%) with about 3 billion won and became the third-largest shareholder. The second-largest shareholder is Antenna’s CEO Yoo Hee Yeol, who owns 21.37% stake, and the largest shareholder is Antenna’s parent company Kakao Entertainment (57.9% stake). Yoo Jae Suk reportedly decided to become a shareholder to contribute to the company’s growth as he has been actively giving opinions regarding Antenna’s plans, especially in the field of entertainment and content.
