Park Myung Soo shows support for Big Bang’s T.O.P amid “Squid Game 2” casting controversy.

On KBS CoolFM’s “Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show” aired on June 30th, Park Myung Soo mentioned T.O.P from Big Bang.

Jeon Minki introduced the cast for “Squid Game” Season 2 as a hot topic. Park Myung Soo said, “I thought I would receive a call (about the casting), but I didn’t. Maybe I will get contacted for Season 3.”

Jeon Minki said, “There was a controversy when T.O.P’s name was on the list. He temporarily suspended activities due to some suspicions during his military service. He also left Big Bang.” Park Myung Soo said, “Personally, I like T.O.P, but it’s difficult to say anything.”

He continued, “It’s ambiguous to say something like this, but both sides have a point. However, T.O.P should make a comeback again.”

He added, “Personally, if he pull himself together and is given a chance this time, he should repay it with more effort.

Jeon Minki said, “However, whether to accept him or not is up to the public’s sentiment, so we should be patient about that.” Park Myung Soo added, “If that’s how public opinion is, then that’s the right thing.

Meanwhile, T.O.P received a 10-month suspended sentence with two years of probation in 2017 for smoking marijuana four times during his military service as a conscripted policeman.

After being discharged as a conscripted policeman, he completed his service as a social service worker. However, during his service as a social service worker, he was criticized for being late on his first day of work, personal meetings with the mayor, and using more sick leaves compared to his colleagues.

After completing his military service, T.O.P stayed in seclusion and suspended his activities in the entertainment industry. Last year, he terminated his contract with YG Entertainment and left Big Bang. During this process, T.O.P also hinted at retiring from the entertainment industry, saying, “I have no intention of making a comeback.”

Netflix announced the casting lineup for “Squid Game 2” on June 29th. The lineup includes Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Gong Yoo, as well as Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Park Gyu Young, Cho Yuri, Lee Jin Wook, T.O.P, and others. After the announcement, there were some criticisms from netizens regarding T.O.P’s comeback.
