A collaboration song between The Weeknd and BLACKPINK Jennie, who are co-stars on HBO’s “The Idol”, will be released soon.
On June 20th (local time), pop star as well as executive producer of lead actor of the HBO series “The Idol”, The Weeknd, took to SNS platform Twitter. Here, he answered to various tweets related to “The Idol”, including some from anti fans.
In particular, against a tweet that published a screenshot of “The Weeknd”’s acting and insulted him for his appearance and expression, the global pop star said, “Not you again LOL you thought I wouldn’t recognize you (be)cause you changed your DP (display picture)… dropping that Jennie song this weekend for you!. Get the bucket ready”.
As a result, The Weeknd has effectively confirmed the release date of his collaboration song with BLACKPINK Jennie to be around June 25-26.
On the other hand, back in May 10th, BLACKPINK Jennie spoiled a snippet of her collaboration with The Weeknd at the Calvin Klein x Jennie limited collection event.
Later on, the music information website GENIUS suddenly uploaded an article for a song titled “One of the Girls (Tough Love)”, along with all of the lyrics, and credited Jennie and The Weeknd, raising speculations that this will be the collaboration.
