Early in her showbiz career, the 1991-born actress dated renowned football player Yoon Bit Garam. In 2015, Seo Yi An co-starred with actor Kim Min Su in the television series Sweet Home Sweet Honey. During their collaboration, she unexpectedly developed a romantic relationship with her co-star while still in a passionate relationship with Yoon Bit Garam. To continue the illicit affair, the actress decided to deceive Kim Min Su by falsely claiming that she had broken up with the football player.

Upon discovering that Seo Yi An was still dating Yoon Bit Garam, Kim Min Su was furious. The actor vented his anger by sending insulting and offensive messages to the football player born in 1990. This conflict led to the revelation of Seo Yi An’s extramarital affair by the Korean media.

The scandal shocked the public, resulting in severe criticism towards the actress. To this day, Seo Yi An has disabled comments on her personal Instagram account to avoid the overwhelming backlash from the public.
