JTBC’s “Snowdrop” Production Presentation generates revenue from the Super Chat where 4.27 million fans around the world screamed out Ji-soo’s name and cheered for her.
At the drama production presentation for JTBC’s “Snowdrop”, the Super Chat (YouTube’s system that allows the Youtube account to receive money from the sponsors through the chat window) broke out.
Many fans poured out their Super Chat at JTBC’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Snowdrop” production presentation which was held online on the afternoon of Dec 16th. The event soon drew attention as it was unusual for fans to burst their own Super Chat at public (official) events such as production presentations and showcases.
The production presentation was open not only to reporters but also to everyone. More than 4.27 million viewers around the world have watched it. They continuously chanted the names of BLACKPINK and Jisoo in the chatbox and voiced their support.
In the midst of this, Super Chat also started to appear. After a fan sponsored a dollar, there were fans who joined in by sponsoring $2, $5, and $10. One fan even sponsored 65,000 won, and another sponsored 125 dollars, drawing attention. When someone donated for a Super Chat, the name of the sponsored user will appear at the top of the chat window for a certain period of time.
Super Chat is a function that can be turned on when a Youtube channel owner wants to pin certain playback times and or subscribers’ comments.
