The Story of a University Student Majoring in Science Education Who Eventually Debuted as an Idol 

Kim Yoo Yeon, born in 2001, debuted in February as a member of Triple S, a multinational girl group consisting of 24 members.

Triple S released their first mini-album “ASSEMBLE” this year. However, before her group debut, Kim Yoo Yeon gained attention through her appearance on MBC’s idol survival show “My Teenage Girl”.

She became known to be a science education major at Ewha Womans University’s College of Education at the time and received a lot of attention thanks to her stunning visuals.

During the show, Kim Yoo Yeon, then a fourth-year trainee, revealed that her parents wanted her to pursue a medical career, with her father being a doctor and her mother a pharmacist.

However, she decided to study science education at Ewha Womans University to please her parents but later confessed that she had doubts about whether she was truly happy with her studies.

Despite being eliminated from “My Teenage Girl” and not debuting in the final lineup from the show, Kim Yoo Yeon persisted in her dream of becoming an idol and continued her trainee life while taking a leave of absence from school. She finally achieved her dream with Triple S.

In a recent interview on MBC FM4U’s “Kim Shin Young’s Hope Song at Noon,” Kim Yoo Yeon shared her thoughts on being a member of a large group and how much she enjoys her life with her fellow members. Her journey from a student to an idol is an inspiring story for many young trainees.
