The noir drama “Big Mouth”, which features Lee Jong Suk and Yoona, is a hot topic among K-drama lovers.
The series debuted with a viewership rating of 6.2%, which saw constant rises to 11.5% by episode 9, proving its immense popularity and raising public interest. As a result, audiences are paying close attention to the plot of “Big Mouth” as well as behind-the-scenes stories on the filming set.
Previously in an interview with News18, director Oh Chung Hwan of “Big Mouth” has quite many interesting facts to tell about the drama’s filming process, as well as the relationship between Yoona and Lee Jong Suk. According to the director, the duo have been friends for years, and help to lighten up the atmosphere on the set.
As Park Chang Ho (Lee Jong Suk) and Go Mi Ho (Yoona) went from friends to lovers, the portrayals of Lee Jong Suk and Go Mi Ho have to respond accordingly. And they have pulled it with excellence, said the director.
He also added: “To be frank, the character I was most concerned about was Miho, portrayed by Yoona. Mi Ho is a strong woman, but to some, she has to be infinitely kind and generous, a quality which will get her through certain situations. You could say she’s admirable and noble; but she’s not the most relatable character, either. I thought Yoona would be perfect for this, and Jongsuk said the same thing during our initial meeting.”
“Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk is a pretty private person. Sometimes during filming, he does show intense emotions towards Yoona. But he gets shy easily”, the director said.
Oh Chung Hwan also discussed the attitude of Yoona while working: “I can feel her special character while filming. Even when it’s not her scene, she’s bubbly and positive, and lifts up everyone’s spirit. Yoona works extremely hard and is attractive both on and off the screen. She truly lives up to all the expectations about her, and makes for the perfect Go Mi Ho.”
“Big Mouth” is an MBC drama that follows the failed lawyer Park Chang Ho (Lee Jong Suk), whose winning rate is as low as 10%. However, he was framed for a murder case and mistaken for the famous con-artist “Big Mouse”, and had no choice but to find the real “Big Mouse” to survive. The series is filled with cunning schemes, and yet also provides a sweet side through the relationship of Chang Ho and his wife Mi Ho.
