The reason why BLINKs are wondering whether BLACKPINK has enlisted in the army

Fans are complaining to BLACKPINK’s agency, YG Entertainment, about the girl group’s long hiatus.

On March 28th, the Facebook page “Idol Issue” made a post with the caption, “BLACKPINK’s hiatus is now as long as a military service period”. The netizen who wrote the article explained, “BLACKPINK’s last activity is the promotion for ‘Lovesick Girl’ in 2020. The group has go on hiatus for over 1 year and a half”.

They continued, “BLACKPINK’s last comeback was even before aespa’s debut. During BLACKPINK’s break, aespa has made a total of 5 comebacks. Even though BLACKPINK is already in the 7th year, the girls only have 23 songs, including b-side tracks. Meanwhile, the number of TWICE’s title songs alone already reached 30”.

Other netizens agreed, saying, “Don’t just go to fashion shows. Please make a comeback”, “Please, I need BLACKPINK to make a comeback”, “Didn’t they enlist in the military?”, “I hope they will soon release new songs”, etc.

BLACKPINK is a four-member girl group consisting of Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa. They debuted in 2016 with “Whistle” and “BOOMBAYAH”. Since then, the girls have made many hits, such as “Playing With Fire”, “As If It’s Your Last”, “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, “Lovesick Girls”, etc.
