The reason ChoA decided to freeze her eggs, “I don’t have to keep up with the social time”
Singer Choa revealed that she gained strength from Song Hye-kyo’s acting, who is showing a strong presence with her acting skills.
On the 17th, a video titled “A story I haven’t told before… Let’s give it a try” was released on Choa‘s YouTube channel.
Choa expressed, “After my return, many people have shown interest and support, and I am so grateful for that. However, as a singer, I feel that I should work harder, but I don’t have the same level of passion and drive as before. Adults say things like ‘you wear out over time,’ but is this what it means to wear out over time? Why can’t I seem to find my motivation? I’ve been thinking about this for the past two years since my return.”
Continuing on, she said, “One day, I happened to receive an offer to appear on a program called ‘Ilta Kangsa’ as a guest, and they kept telling me the message ‘You’re in your 40s, but it’s not too late.’ During the show, I was asked the question, ‘What is your dream in your 40s, 10 years from now?’ and I realized that I had never thought about myself in my 40s. I may not have been the best in my 20s, but I worked hard. The reason was that I had a goal of ‘wanting to go as far as possible as an idol.'” She added that she thought the difference between her current and past self might be due to the absence of a clear goal.
Choa concluded that she should move on from her past as an idol and focus on living in the present and moving towards the future. “I realized that I want to bring joy not just through singing and dancing, but also through my YouTube channel. I want to become a YouTuber who can bring joy to those who watch my videos,” she said, expressing her desire to bring happiness to others.
Choa also mentioned her anxiety about keeping up with the socially expected timeline of getting married and having children, saying, “I’m not against marriage and I also want to have children, so that’s what made me worry a lot.” She added that she thought using frozen eggs could be a way to address those worries. “I realized that I don’t have to follow the social timeline because of biological limitations. By preparing for the worst-case scenario, I don’t think I have to follow the social timeline,” she explained.
Referring to Song Hye-kyo‘s acting skills in the recent drama “The Glory,” Choa said, “There are a lot of praises for her acting skills these days. She seems to be steadily improving. When someone in their 40s is good at their profession like this, they can give strength to those in their 30s just by their presence. I hope that when I become a 40-something, I can be a good role model for those in their 30s or 20s as well. I was inspired by Song Hye-kyo, who is blooming in her acting skills regardless of age.”
