Despite facing various trials, protests, and malicious comments, the love between Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In has come to fruition.
On February 7th, actor and singer Lee Seung Gi (36) announced his upcoming marriage with actress Lee Da In (birth name Lee Joo Hee, 30). Such an announcement is extremely meaningful, considering that the couple’s love is one that has overcome countless trials.
After a dating rumor was reported in May 2021, Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In revealed their relationship. In particular, at the time, Lee Da In’s side confirmed that they were dating, saying, “We met as seniors and juniors, and we are carefully getting to know each other with good feelings from 5 to 6 months ago.”
What brought the two together at the time was their passion for acting and their common hobby of golf. Along with the disclosure of their devotion, it was reported that Lee Seung Gi introduced Da In to his grandmother during a date in Gangneung, and rumors of an early marriage appeared.
However, the environment surrounding the couple’s romance was not always smooth. Immediately after the news of their relationship, some fans of Lee Seung Gi held a truck protest in front of his house, pointing their ire towards Lee Da In’s family background. Then, in August of the same year, rumors of a breakup emerged out of the blue.
Lee Seung Gi, who had been silent for about a year after that, said on his official website in June 2022, “Please understand that I didn’t speak much because of concerns over stories flowing outside, being distorted into secondary rumors and used as gossip. However, since last year’s rumor, I have not made any additional comments on that part because there has been no change in my position or personal circumstances, and I did not feel much of the need to do so,” revealing his affection for Lee Da In has not changed.
In the second half of 2022, another ordeal came to Lee Seung Gi. Lee Seung Gi had a conflict over the settlement of his music revenue with his former agency, Hook Entertainment, which he had worked for 18 years. Because of this, Lee Da In was with Lee Seung Gi during the most difficult time of his life.
The two overcame many obstacles together and announced their marriage on February 7th. Lee Seung Gi said in a handwritten letter that he personally released, “I decided to spend the rest of my life with Lee Da In, whom I love, as husband and wife rather than lovers. I proposed and she said yes. The wedding will be held on April 7.“
Regarding the bride-to-be Lee Da In, Lee Seung Gi said, “She is a warm-hearted and loving person who I want to have by my side forever. I hope you will support our future.”
