Netflix witnessed record high application use and increased usage time thanks to “The Glory”

“The Glory” starring Song Hye Kyo has helped retain app users for Netflix.

On February 7th, WiseApp, an app analysis service, announced that the number of Netflix application (app) users in January this year reached a record high of 12.79 millions as a result of a sample survey of Korean smartphone users (including Android and iOS users). Compared to last year’s statistics, it is an increase of 15% (1.63 million) after “The Glory” was released on the platform.

The total usage time of Netflix apps also increased by 24% (900 million minutes) from 4 billion minutes in November last year to 4.9 billion minutes in January this year.

WiseApp said, “Since April last year, when distancing was lifted, the number of people doing outdoor activities has increased, and Netflix app users and usage time have decreased. However, since December 30, when ‘The Glory’ content was released, the number of app users and total usage time have increased as the drama has become a hit.”

The survey covered a total of 51.2 million people, including 36.88 million Android users and 14.32 million iOS users, and the results may be different from the reality because it is statistically inferred through the panel.
