The sibling love between Huening Kai and Huening Bahiyyih is precious.
TXT’s Huening Kai and his younger sister, Kep1er’s Huening Bahiyyih are currently one of the most loved sibling pairs among K-pop idols. The two are popular for their mixed-race visuals as they were born to an American father and a Korean mother. They especially stand out with their big eyes and tall noses.
Fans also adore the way Huening Kai shows support for his little sister, from Bahiyyih’s early days in the industry when she competed in Mnet’s survival show Girls Planet 999 until her official debut in Kep1er.
Currently, Kep1er is appearing in Mnet’s competition show Queendom season 2 for female idols and gaining spotlight for being the youngest and only rookie girl group in the lineup.
On April 20, during an individual live broadcast, when asked if he had been watching Queendom 2, Huening Kai answered with a proud expression, “Of course I’ve watched it (because) Hiyyih is there. They are doing very well.” Knowing this, fans are touched because even though Huening Kai is busy preparing for TXT’s upcoming comeback, he still doesn’t forget to cheer for his sister’s group.
Huening Kai also revealed that before a big performance, Bahiyyih would give him a call and seek advice from him, asking questions like, “What’s the best way to do this?”
When Kep1er promoted their debut title track “Wa Da Da”, Huening Kai did the song’s dance challenge with Bahiyyih. When Kep1er received their first music show win, Huening Kai was also the first person to send Bahiyyih messages to congratulate her.
When Bahiyyih competed on Girls Planet 999, Bahiyyih received much attention from the start simply because she is Huening Kai’s sister. She even came under controversy because many viewers think Bahiyyih’s talents are not outstanding enough and she only got high ranks on the show thanks to her famous brother.
Since her debut in Kep1er, Bahiyyih has also faced many difficulties. At the group’s first fansign, she was the only one who didn’t receive a gift. On Queendom 2, Bahiyyih barely has any screen time. Fans worry that Huening Kai also feels upset seeing how his sister is treated. Previously, he once expressed his disappointment when he heard that Bahiyyih only had 8.69 seconds of line Kep1er’s debut song.
