“Doctor Slump” Park Shin-hye Flaunts “First Love” Visual In School Uniform

Park Shin-hye made her first appearance as Nam Ha-neul, an anesthesiologist who faces burnout, in the first episode of JTBC’s new Sat-Sun drama “Doctor Slump”, which aired on January 27th.

Showing up with long straight hair and wearing a school uniform, Park Shin-hye caught the eyes of viewers with her perfect transformation into high school girl Nam Ha-neul. Park Shin-hye’s portrayal of Nam Ha-neul gave drama fans a big laugh with her persistence in studying, such as watching videos of lectures while doing hula hoops, chewing mixed coffee saying it was a waste of time to go to the bathroom, insisting on going to school earlier than her rival Jeong-woo (Park Hyung-sik).

On the other hand, the actress also drew sympathy by expressing the character’s suffering from burnout in a realistic way. When someone asked, “Dr. Nam, are you okay?”, Nam Ha-neul responded, “I have to endure it”, instead of “I’m okay” or “No”. She showcased a realistic image, such as being unable to focus on conversations with her family and having no energy because of her exhausted body and mind. In particular, her narration with a calm and resonant voice made many viewers feel sad and deeply sympathized with the burnout experience of Nam Ha-neul.

As such, Park Shin-hye vitalizes the character Nam Ha-neul, who is beautiful, smart and hard-working, with her three-dimensional acting. In addition, her chemistry with Park Hyung-sik brought freshness and cheerfulness to the story, increasing viewers’ satisfaction to the fullest.
