Most haunting “The Glory” villain: A famous actor with amazing acting chops and frequent appearances on mega-hit dramas

“The Glory Part 2” is receiving countless praise for a satisfying ending to a series of endless torments against the three suffering victims, Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo), Joo Yeo Jeong (Lee Do Hyun) and Kang Hyeon Nam (Yeom Hye Ran).

Kang Yeong Cheon (Lee Moo Saeng), a prisoner who received a death sentence after murdering Joo Yeo Jeong’s father was the final tormentor that appeared on “The Glory: revenge list.

Despite his lack of screen time, this villain was able to instill a haunting presence with his twisted mind and incomprehensible madness. In the past, Yeong Cheon was denied treatment because of his notoriety as a killer. Only Yeo Jeong’s father was willing to cure him. However, the doctor made a mindless mention to his son and his love for ramen, and ended up being murdered by his own patient.

After ending up in prison, Yeong Cheon mentally tortures Yeo Jeong by sending him letters detailing how the murder happened as well as the twisted sensation that the killer felt when taking the life of his father.

The man behind the role of Kang Yeong Cheon is actor Lee Moo Saeng. He receives praise for pulling off a truly psychopathic role, especially with his devious smile that sends chills down the spine.

And it was, by no means, a fluke. Lee Moo Saeng has had 18 years of experience under his belt, along with many experiments with a diverse set of roles. One of the similar roles along the mad character line was his transformation into Nam Si Hoon in “One Spring Night,” a dentist who continuously assaults his wife and only has in mind how to leech off her family.

Moo Saeng’s handsome, calm and even gentle appearance is actually an asset for his evil roles. It makes each of his appearances a mystery to the viewers, never revealing who he truly is until later in the drama. In “The World of the Married,” the audience could have never imagined a handsome and warm neuropsychiatry specialist such as Kim Yoon Ki, who even rescued the female lead from the death, was not as good as he seemed.

Apart from his antagonist roles, Lee Moo Saeng has had his chances as protagonists of drama works. In 2022, he appeared as the troubled talent agent who is stuck between a cheating and controlling wife and Chan Young (Jeon Mi Do), a woman he loves for all his life and unfortunately discovers to have late-stage cancer. Their love story was intense yet filled with emotions that moved the audience to tears as an inevitable separation was hanging upon their relationship.
