“The Glory” Kim Gun Woo, “I was very happy to be nominated for Best New Actor at Baeksang 7 years after my debut”

Actor Kim Gun Woo revealed his real personality as an innocent guy, not as “The Glory” villain Son Myung Oh”, on “My Little Old Boy”.

Kim Gun Woo’s daily life was revealed through the recent broadcast of SBS’s “My Little Old Boy” on April 30th.

Kim Gun Woo played the school violence perpetrator Son Myung Oh in Netflix’s original series “The Glory”.

Despite portraying a villain, Kim Gun Woo is a pure-hearted man who finds healing in cleaning. Seo Jang Hoon showed his admiration, saying “That’s really amazing”. Special MC Lee Seok Hoon also commented, “I can’t see any trace of Son Myung Oh on his face. He looks so pure and gentle.”

Kim Gun Woo has been acting for 7 years. He debuted in 2016 through the drama “Fight For My Way” but did not receive much attention. However, after starring in “The Glory”, Kim Gun Woo finally got nominated for Best New Actor at Baeksang Arts Awards.

Congratulating Kim Hieora, who played the role of Lee Sa Ra in “The Glory”, on her Best New Actress nomination, Kim Gun Woo excitedly said, “It’s so nice to see our team after a long time”.

Kim Hieora responded, “I’m very happy and I think I’ve received too much. Our Myung Oh (Kim Gun Woo’s character in ‘The Glory’), you worked hard”. Kim Gun Woo laughed and said, “That’s right, I worked very hard.”

He sincerely added, “I’m happier knowing that I was nominated for the Rookie Award together with you. I will pray for both of us to win the award together.”

Meanwhile, Kim Gun Woo’s popularity could be seen even on the street. That day, he even held a surprise fanmeeting with fans on his way to the gym.

Kim Gun Woo is known as a person who manages himself well. He purposely reduced his muscles to create a lean body for his portrayal of Son Myung Oh. In this regard, the actor said, “I feel like my body was 120% in sync with the character”, expressing his satisfaction.
