“The Glory” director’s first word to Shin Ye Eun during the audition for the role Park Yeon Jin

Actress Shin Ye Eun, who plays the child role of Park Yeon Jin in “The Glory,” told the story of her first meeting with director Ahn Gil Ho.

Actress Shin Ye Eun is gaining explosive popularity after she played Park Yeon Jin’s young version on Netflix’s “The Glory.”

On Jan 16th, Shin Ye Eun appeared on KBS Cool FM’s “Heize’s Volume Up” and revealed her behind-the-scenes story from “The Glory.”

Shin Ye Eun said, “I didn’t receive a casting offer for the role of Park Yeon Jin. I passed the audition.” She said she liked director Ahn Gil Ho even before she knew of “The Glory”, and she enjoyed watching his dramas such as tvN’s “Memories of the Alhambra” and “Stranger”.

Shin Ye Eun said, “I went to the audition and saw the director sitting there. When I said hello with a smile, he said, ‘I like that smile’,” and explained, “I smiled because I liked the director, but I guess that smile made me look bad.

She added that after the audition, she even asked her manager, “I was praised (by the director) that he liked my smile, but is it a compliment? Hearing this, Heize replied, “It must have been a compliment.

In fact, the scene where Park Yeon Jin smiles at Moon Dong Eun (Jeong Ji So) in “The Glory” is one of the best scenes for many viewers.

Park Yeon Jin, who went to Moon Dong Eun’s house with a group of bullies, said to Moon Dong Eun, “Why are you so late? I was dying to see you,” she said with a big smile. Her smile, which seemed somewhat creepy, revealed Park Yeon Jin’s personality as a vicious and sadistic bully who harassed Moon Dong Eun.
