Season 2 of “D.P.”, which tells about a team of military police with their mission to catch deserters, will soon begin filming.
The 58th Baeksang Arts Awards was held at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do on the evening of May 6th. Netflix’s “D.P.” won Best Drama in the TV series category. “D.P.” received praises for capturing the stories of deserters and soldiers chasing them from a realistic and sharp perspective to once again mention the problems that are ignored by society.
Receiving the award, director Han Jun-hee of “D.P.” said, “I have learned that what producers and directors do means nothing without the participation of actors and staff. I might not be a great person, but I’m thankful that I could be here for this award”. He expressed his gratitude to the cast, other directors, and his family. The director drew attention as he added, “Season 2 of our drama ‘D.P.’ will start filming this month”. Expressing his ambition for “D.P. 2”, director Han Jun-hee said, “We will film it healthily without anyone getting hurt”.
Earlier, Netflix Korea released a short video confirming the production of “D.P 2”. Ahn Joon-ho (Jung Hae-in) in the video was looking at the phrase “SEASON 2” written on the floor. Han Ho-yeol (Koo Kyo-hwan) appeared and asked, “What are you doing? Am I going alone?”. In response, Ahn Joon-ho said “No” and then went by the phrase “SEASON 2”. It seems like Jung Hae-in and Koo Kyo-hwan will continue to appear in Season 2, following Season 1 of “D.P.”
Although Jo Suk-bong (Jo Hyun-chul) shot himself in the head at the end of “D.P”’s final episode, the news of him being taken to the hospital was reported in the after-credit scene raised speculation that this character is still alive.
Expectations are high on what kind of story “D.P.” will tell in Season 2 to capture the hearts of fans around the world once again.
