Vlending’s official said, “We are glad that good news came with the new year 2023. Especially in the constantly pouring OST market, we will continue to make efforts to once again showcase works that can create synergy between dramas and OSTs like ‘Itaewon Class’.“
This record is significant in that it is the first OST in the 2020s to exceed 100 million views since the OSTs of “Descendants of the Sun (2016)”, “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016)” and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016~2017)”.
JTBC’s drama “Itaewon Class”, which aired from Jan 31st to March 21st, 2020, drew numerous favorable reviews based on the webtoon of the same name. Thanks to its popularity in Korea, it gained global popularity and earned the modifier “Mega Hit”, including being remade in Japan under the name of “Roppongi Class”.
Not only the drama but also its OSTs received a lot of attention. Sung by singer Gaho, “Start Over” captures the story of Sae Ro Yi (Park Seo Joon) and DanBam members with a cheerful and cool sound. It received great love from the public for its heart-pounding melody and courageous lyrics. It even topped domestic music charts at the time of its release.
