The difference between the bully and the victim… Viewers are satisfied with the ending of “The Glory” villain Park Yeon Jin
After Part 2 was released on March 10th, all episodes of “The Glory” are now available on Netflix. The cruel revenge of the characters and their tragic ending gave viewers a sense of catharsis.
In particular, the ending of Park Yeon Jin, the evilest bully in the drama, received explosive responses.
In episode 1 of Part 1, the young Yeon Jin (Shin Ye Eun) leads her gang to bully the young Dong Eun (Jung Ji So). They come to Dong Eun’s house, hold a drinking party, and threaten Dong Eun by taking all the money she has saved.
Yeon Jin then forces Dong Eun to dance and entertain them while they drink. As Dong Eun refuses to dance shamefully in front of the school violence perpetrators, Yeon Jin says, “Your legs look pretty today…”, and threatens to burn Dong Eun’s legs. A song is turned on, followed by Dong Eun’s painful scream. Dong Eun is later seen rubbing the burn scars on her legs while sobbing in the white snow.
After becoming an adult, Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo) appears in front of Park Yeon Jin (Lim Ji Yeon) and bravely declares her revenge.
In fact, Moon Dong Eun is not the only victim of Park Yeon Jin and her gang. Yoon So Hee (Lee So Yi), the owner of the body that has not been disposed of for 18 years, also confronted Park Yeon Jin.
In the episode where the truth about Yoon So Hee’s death is revealed, the young Yeon Jin slaps the young Yoon So Hee for wearing the same clothes as her and forces So Hee to take off her clothes. Yeon Jin says, “You’re nothing”, but Yoon So Hee frankly criticizes Yeon Jin, saying “I feel sorry for you. I’ll forgive you because I’m a better person than you.” Yeon Jin got angry and set fire to So Hee’s clothes. So Hee eventually dies after Yeon Jin pushes her to fall off the building.
Later, Park Yeon Jin gets imprisoned for murdering Yoon So Hee and Son Myung Ho (Kim Gun Woo). Her mother also abandons her and she continues her life in prison in loneliness. In the end, Park Yeon Jin, who used to be an evil bully, is ridiculed and bullied by other prisoners.
In prison, she is forced to act as a weathercaster and doesn’t have a chance to refuse. She immediately stands up, fixes her prison uniform, and delivers the weather news with tears in her eyes. Park Yeon Jin used to make her school violence victims, including Moon Dong Eun and Yoon So Hee, do shameful actions but she ends up being the person who has to do such things.
