The Boyz Sangyeon spoke up regarding his sex joke controversy

After being accused of making a sex joke in front of female staff, The Boyz Sangyeon has provided an explanation.

Recently, The Boyz Sangyeon was accused of making a sex joke in front of female staff, after a video of him allegedly saying “사까시” (sakkasi), which means “blow job” (oral sex) spread across SNS.

As the controversy grows heavy, however, Sangyeon spoke up regarding his sex joke controversy through the fan community platform Bubble, clarifying that he never said “sakkasi”.

“There have been a lot of issues ongoing nowadays, right?”, the male idol said, adding, “It will get exhausting if I keep silent. So, I never said anything like that!”.

Meanwhile, a fan previously slowed down the controversial video, and pointed out that Sangyeon likely said “살빠지겠다” (salbbajigessta), which means, “I am going to lose weight”. This meaning also fits with the original context, considering that the video shows The Boyz after practicing multiple songs in preparation for their world tour.

On the other hand, it is revealed that the controversial video is taken from a practice video published on The Boyz’s official YouTube channel, and not a live content. There were also no female staff or any staff present, as the members were just practicing among themself.
