“We belatedly knew about her donation so we invited her on the show”… The behind story of BOL4 Ahn Ji-young’s appearance on “KkoKkoMu”
Ahn Ji-young reportedly donated 10 million won after watching a broadcast about the Sealand Fire Disaster. She was recently invited to guest on the show.
Broadcasting officials revealed that Ahn Ji-young’s appearance on SBS’s entertainment show “Story of the Day When You Bite Your Tail” (hereinafter referred to as “KkoKkoMu”) in the Special episode “The second miracle – I didn’t lose my heart”, which aired on August 25th, was invited by the production team, not cast.
Accordingly, Ahn Ji-young donated 10 million won to the Korea Children’s Safety Foundation after watching the “Last Summer Camp: Sealand Fire Disaster” episode of “KkoKkoMu” last year.
The “Last Summer Camp: Sealand Fire Disaster” episode, which aired on December 9th, 2021, told the story of the disaster in which an unknown fire broke out at a youth training center in Hwaseong-gun, Gyeonggi-do in the early morning of June 30th, 1999 and caused 23 people, including 19 kindergarten students who were sleeping and 4 teachers/instructors, to die and injured 5 people.
Through this broadcast, “KkoKkoMu” tracked the process of such great damage thoroughly and pointed out the structural problems. The program raised discussion on why there were no adults with the children at that time and why the fire spread at such an uncontrollable speed then revealing the truth that the viewers did not know. The heartbroken stories of the fire disaster drew frustration and great regret from the MCs, guests and viewers.
It is said that Ahn Ji-young, who watched the broadcast, directly contacted the Korea Children’s Safety Foundation and delivered her 10 million won donation.
The production team of “KkoKkoMu” also belatedly knew about Ahn Ji-young’s good deeds through the foundation so they invited Ahn Ji-young to guest on the show to express their gratitude to her.
Ahn Ji-young did not mention her donation in the “The second miracle – I didn’t lose my heart” episode, but she filled the broadcast by revealing her diverse reactions after watching “KkoKkoMu” with a sincere heart for the children.
