That line in “The Glory”… The government made an unusual refutation

The government even issued an unusual press release to point out that a line in Netflix’s series “The Glory” does not accord with reality.

On March 16th, the Ministry of Justice released a press release regarding the line “Blood relationship doesn’t break that easily. If I go to the dong (neighborhood) office and issue a document, I can find out where you are“.

This line was uttered by Moon Dong Eun (Song Hye Kyo)’s mother Jung Mi Hee (Park Ji Ah) when she met the now-adult Moon Dong Eun. It is a line with the effect that she used her status to find out the address of her daughter who cut off ties with her at the dong office. Moon Dong Eun cut off contact with Jung Mi Hee, who abused and neglected her since childhood, but Jung Mi Hee finds out where she lives.

In the press release, the Ministry of Justice pointed out that Jung Mi Hee’s line is different from reality.

The Ministry of Justice said, “According to the law, victims of domestic violence can designate spouses or lineal blood relatives and apply to the heads of cities, towns and townships to restrict the issuance of their family relation certificates or to cover personal records.
