Actor Kim Bum returns as the charming ‘half-human half-gumiho’ Lee Rang in “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938”.
The production team of tvN’s Sat-Sun drama “Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” revealed the first still cuts of Lee Rang (Kim Bum), who captivates viewers with opposite charms, rough wildness and sophisticated modernity. His return in the new season of “Tale of the Nine Tailed” is highly anticipated.
“Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938” is a K-fantasy action drama centering around gumiho Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) struggling to return to modern times after suddenly getting summoned to the chaotic era of the year 1938. After three years, the drama is returning with more dynamic action scenes, larger scales, and more diverse folktale characters while maintaining its original worldview that includes gods and monsters.
The reunion of director Kang Shin Hyo and screenwriter Han Woo Ri, who were greatly loved by K-drama viewers by opening the gate for the fantasy genre, as well as the meeting of trustworthy actors, including Lee Dong Wook, Kim So Yeon, Kim Bum and Ryu Kyung Soo, are stimulating expectations.
Kim Bum plays Lee Yeon’s younger brother Lee Rang, born a half-blood gumiho. In the previous season, Lee Rang, who hated his brother Lee Yeon to death due to a long-time misunderstanding, ended up sacrificing his life to protect his brother, drawing deep regret from viewers.
